Digidelta revolutionizes sustainable printing with BIOND films

Each BIOND film uses a patented carbon-neutral design, with over 85% bio-based content, no VOCs, and free of phthalates and chlorine.

Digidelta, a specialist manufacturer of materials for digital printing, decoration, visual communication, and textiles, has announced the global availability of BIOND, a revolutionary range of bio-based, carbon-neutral films that will completely transform the way printing companies develop environmentally responsible applications.

Unveiled at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025, BIOND is an innovative, fully bio-based technology that offers users countless opportunities in the field of sustainable production. Fully patented, BIOND was developed in-house by Digidelta—a highly recognized manufacturer with over 40 years of experience in the industry and a solid track record of commitment to sustainability.

BIOND was designed with a singular focus on the environment, aiming to transform large-format printing through an approach inspired by nature. Produced from plant-based raw materials, BIOND represents the ultimate convergence of sustainability and printing performance excellence.

Four main categories: printing, protection, decoration, and glass décor

The BIOND collection is currently divided into four main categories—printing films, protection films, décor films, and glass décor—each with specialized products for a wide variety of applications.

Whether producing retail graphics that tell the customer's ecological story, or wall and window decorations that highlight the brand's commitment to sustainability, BIOND not only provides visual impact, but also ensures environmental responsibility.

Water-based adhesive and manufactured using 85% solar energy

All BIOND products use a water-based adhesive and are manufactured using processes powered by 85% solar energy. Production is supervised by Digidelta's specialized team, ensuring:

  • high quality control

  • industrial efficiency

  • consistent and timely deliveries

  • full traceability and technical accuracy

This vertical and integrated approach reduces costs associated with subcontracting, allowing savings to be passed on to customers—facilitating the adoption of more sustainable solutions.

This long-term commitment has led Digidelta to recently invest €3.4 million in expanding its facilities in Portugal, increasing the production area to over 10,000 m².

Sustainable, but with performance equivalent to PVC

Although 100% focused on sustainability, BIOND materials behave exactly like traditional PVC vinyl films. The essential difference lies in their environmental footprint:
BIOND is truly sustainable, allowing you to create eco-friendly applications without sacrificing quality.

BIOND films can be stretched without tearing, allowing them to be used in print & cut projects, and are available in various finishes—wood, stone, and canvas—offering greater creative flexibility to the user.

In addition, they are compatible with all printing technologies, including more environmentally friendly equipment such as latex printers, making BIOND the ideal sustainable solution for businesses of all sizes.

European certifications and validations for sustainability and safety

BIOND's environmental credentials have been confirmed in accordance with European standard CENT/TS 16137:2011 for bio-based content. All BIOND products are:

  • FSC-certified

  • recognized by EcoVadis

  • classified as Fire Resistance B-s1, d0

  • Certified with R9 Anti-Slip Rating

  • compliant with REACH, RoHS, and SVHC

Sustainability calculator: complete transparency for users

With the aim of ensuring total transparency, Digidelta has developed a sustainability calculator. Using this tool, users can enter the amount of PVC vinyl currently used and calculate:

  • CO₂ reduction

  • the real impact of switching to BIOND materials

Typically, this change translates into a reduction of more than 80% in CO₂ emissions when compared to traditional PVC.

BIOND: created with intention, developed with purpose

BIOND is the result of a conscious process, from the choice of raw materials to the final product. It was created with a clear purpose:

  • offer real quality

  • provide proven sustainability

  • ensure certified safety

  • without shortcuts, exaggerations, or compromises

BIOND represents a fundamental change in visual communications, offering high-performance printing media that sets new standards in environmental responsibility,” says Armando Mota, CEO of Digidelta.

“Our commitment goes beyond creating eco-friendly products—we are developing solutions that transform the possibilities of the industry. Through innovative bio-based technology and smart end-of-life solutions, we have created a truly circular approach to visual communication, actively contributing to a more sustainable future.”
